Labyrinth of Reptoran v0.2
Version 0.2.8
Date uploaded: February 8, 2008
Features:
To do:
Fixed bugs:
- Displaying a monster's name immediately after loading the game now works
properly.
- Monsters can now be generated with gloves
- PROBABLE: The inventory screen should no longer crash when you press escape
at any time.
- PROBABLE: The game should no longer freeze upon entering a level.
Known bugs:
- The player will occasionally lose one hitpoint.
- On rare occasions, the game will crash when you're walking around. I've
only experienced this on the lower levels, and am not sure of the cause. [FIXED:
Version 0.3.0 corrects this problem]
- Creatures will sometimes run into walls if they cannot see the player. This
will be fixed when the speed system is overhauled in v0.4.1.

Version 0.2.7
Date uploaded: February 8, 2008
Features:
- Pressing 'p' will bring up a list of the last few messages that you received.
- You are now informed exactly what skill was increased when you level up.
- Fog of war is now an option, basically, if you hit 'F', you'll remember the location of monsters and items (even if they move away from that spot)
- There is now an option (enabled by default) to use an inventory management system like that of ADOM. This means that there are no more wear and wield commands, since everything is done from the equipment screen. It is toggled with the 'A' key.
To do:
- Fix the bugs that are present
Fixed bugs:
- Pressing the escape key while in the equipment screen no longer crashes the game
- Logs are no longer treated as headgear
Known bugs:
- When you load a saved game, the first display of any monster's name is blank.
After that, the display functions correctly. [FIXED: Version 0.2.8 corrects this problem]
- The player will occasionally lose one hitpoint.
- On rare occasions, the game will crash when you're walking around. I've
only experienced this on the lower levels, and am not sure of the cause. [FIXED:
Version 0.3.0 corrects this problem]
- The game has been known to freeze when entering a level; this is likely a problem with the random dungeon generator. [PROBABLY FIXED: Version 0.2.8 corrects this problem]
- Creatures will sometimes run into walls if they cannot see the player. This will be fixed when the speed system is overhauled in v0.4.1.
Notes:
- The readme file has been updated with the new features and commands; it also describes some aspects of the game that I forgot to mention earlier (such as the armor diagrams on the right side of the screen).

Version 0.2.5
Date uploaded: February 1, 2008
Features:
- Added a boss monster that you can kill to win
- Added AI based on pathfinding (monsters try to surround you)
- Enhanced unarmed combat based on your strength and skill
- Added 9 more monsters and 17 more items
- Added a small meter indicating how much health your opponent has remaining
To do:
- Add HP regeneration and decrease starting HP
- Add periodic monster generation to prevent the player from "clearing"
levels
- Make the skill screen understandable (instead of a list of numbers)
- Add an intro screen of some sort
- Redo the top map slightly
Known bugs:
- When you load a saved game, the first display of any monster's name is blank.
After that, the display functions correctly. [FIXED: Version 0.2.8 corrects
this problem]
- The game inexplicably crashed while I was fighting a goblin on level 8 or
9. This only happened once, and I have no idea why it happened. [FIXED: Version
0.3.0 corrects this problem]
- If you load a saved game, the game will treat the boss as any other monster,
and the ending screen will not be displayed. This will be fixed by the next
version. [FIXED: Version 0.2.6 saves the boss monster correctly]
- If you have a stack of items in your inventory, they will not split when
wielded. This will be fixed by the next version. [FIXED: Version 0.2.6 equips
items properly]

Version 0.2.0
Date uploaded: October 10, 2007
New Features:
- You can wear and wield items, and the game will save and load them properly.
- There's now a monster running around that you can bump into to deal damage. If he hits you, you'll take damage as well.
- If the hitpoints of any actor drops to 0, it dies (this includes the player).
To do:
- Weapon combat
- Armor, shields, dodging
Known bugs:
- None, but submit any bugs to

Notes:
- There are several new items scattered around to the right of the player. Wearing them won't affect you in any way, though.
- Wearing an item ('w') will equip it to the appropriate location. Wielding an item ('W') puts it in your right hand.
- To switch the items in your hands, type 'x'. To switch your ready item and your right hand, type 'X'.
- To view your skills, type 's' (very rudimentary; more of a debugging feature than anything else)
- To quit, type 'Q'. (This sets your hitpoints to 0, killing you.)
